He promised to govern Brazil for everyone but said: "The poor will have preference in our government." [Toronto Star]
>Isso ate que e bom, ne? No final, ta todo mundo ficando pobre mesmo... A classe media ta quase la...
Aloisio Pisco, a 36-year-old doorman, said Mr. Lula's handling of the economy earned him the right to a second term. “Lula, he's the best; he's created jobs and prices are cheaper,” said Mr. Pisco. [The Globe and Mail]
> Sou jornalista... tenho que mostrar outros pontos de vista.
(...)But some felt the corruption scandal showed Mr. Lula is no different than other politicians in a country long accustomed to corruption. [The Globe and Mail, no ultimo paragrafo.]
> Foi mal... Em certos casos, nao sei ser imparcial... rs rs
“I didn't vote for that bum,” said Jose Gomes Araujo, who reupholsters furniture. “He says the PT is the party of the workers, but he's never worked a day in his life.” [The Globe and Mail]
> Deixa o Mr. Araujo falar do Mr. da Silva, deixa...
Mr. Cardoso, who was president for eight years prior to Mr. Lula, continued to hammer at the allegations against Mr. Lula's party, known as the PT. “The PT can't cover up the crimes, Brazil has to investigate,” Mr. Cardoso said. “Brazil is tired of impunity.” [The Globe and Mail]
> Agora, falando serio: colocar o Brasil na terceira pessoa do singular e complicado...
